SERIES AND PARALLEL CIRCUITS

Here we have a video about the series and parallel connection in circuits. Watch it and answer these questions in your notebook. Remember that you should write down the headings.

  • What is the tension that is applied to the circuit?
  • Regarding the circuit in series connection, what voltage will each electric bulb receive?
  • What happens if an electric bulb which is connected in series to other electric bulbs breaks down?
  • Regarding the circuit in parallel connection, what voltage will each electric bulb receive ?
  • What happens if an electric bulb which is connected in parallel to other electric bulbs breaks down?

Eventually, go to comments and leave your opinion about the advantages and disavantages of series and parallel connection. Don´t forget to write down your name!

I think the video is very simple but is very interesting for series and parallel connection.

  19. The advantages of parallel connection are that when a electric bulb burn, the other continue working and all the electric bulbs have the same voltage.
The disavantages of series connection are that when a electric bulb burn, the other doesn't work and all of the bulbs share the voltage so they shine less

    Parallel conection:
Advantages: more intensity and it continues working although one receiver breaks.
    Disadvantages: the battery last less.

    Series conection:
Advantages: the battery last more than in parallel.
Disadvantages: if something breaks, anything work.

    =) Bye!!!!!=)

  21. ADVANTAGES:
Parallel connection; The receivers are the same voltage that the battery. When a reciver is break, the other receivers is working.
Series connection; The battery lasts very much
    DISAVANTAGES:
    Parallel connection;The battery spends soon
Series connection; The receivers distribute the voltage and light little. When a receiver is break, the other receivers don`t working.

  22. In Series conection the bulb shine less than in the parallel conection,
Desavantages: if one thing breaks the circuit don´t work.
Advantages: the battery lasts very much.

In Parallel conection the bulbs shine more than in the series conection.
Disadvantages: the bulb work a short time.
Advantages: if one thing breaks the circuit continue working.
